RTO Hyderabad: How to get a Permanent Driving License?
To apply for Permanent Driving License, the applicant should appear in person along with a registered motor vehicle of the relevant category before the Licensing Authority with the following documents:
» Application in Form No. 4 (available with the department)
» Fee of Rs. 125/- for test and Licence
» Valid Learner's Licence held by the applicant for the relevant class, which is older than 30 days
» 4 recent passport size photographs of the applicant
» Applicants for Transport Vehicle Licence should enclose a Training Certificate in Form No. 5 issued by a recognized driving school.
The applicant shall pass a driving test on a vehicle of the type he has applied for to be eligible for Permanent Driving License.
How long is the Permanent Driving Licence valid?
Licence to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the Licence is renewed every 5 years. Transport Vehicle Licence is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue or renewal.
How can I obtain a learner's Driving licence?
You can obtain a learning licence by applying with form 2 to the concerned RTO office.
