  1. Few days back while returning in morning around 07:30 am, from City Railway station, a cop stopped me and questioned me why was I driving recklessly.
The incidence , to best of my knowledge, at the exit, an auto came into my car and I avoided collision by urgently braking. The road having a descent and rough, wheels made big sound, but no person or vehicle was damaged - even touched. After then once I took you turn to go towards MG road, the same cop ran into my vehicle while I was taking it aside when he signaled to stop. Then he started questioning like whether I had common sense or not. then he told me to get out of the vehicle and charged with reckless driving. I politely told him that I was not driving rashly nor do I have habit; but I didn't keep arguing with the cop who was accompanied by two more traffic cops.

One of them asked whether I could pay on the spot or later and I paid on the spot a fine of Rs. 400/-, as I had to bring my family quickly back to home and myself had to catch up with office work for the day.

This is not about the fine. I would like to under what circumstances a driver may be charged with reckless driving and what could be the consequence of such charges. I hold driving license & drive now over 15 years and never faced such situation.

Also, I am confident I was not driving rashly nor had any such intentions since the time I learnt driving. As I have paid the fine already, how do I prove now that the charges pressed were not correct.

    Thanks.

    1. You can contest the traffic fine in the local court to prove that the charges pressed were not correct.
