Hyderabad Traffic Police has launched Integrated E-Challan System which has modernized the traffic challan system. It aims to issue challan electronically and also enable ease of payment for citizens. Below is a list of steps taken up by Hyderabad Traffic Police to bring discipline on road.
Now, you can pay fine for traffic violations by just swiping a debit/credit card. Putting an end to woes of people, who have to wait in long queues at eSeva centers to pay fines, police have launched personal digital assistant (PDA) machines.
As a part of the new system, all traffic police stations in the city would have advanced PDAs with GPRS connectivity. The PDAs with wireless access to traffic police central server would be capable of generating a spot challan in the name of a particular offender, detailing even previous offences. The offender then can pay the challan amount on the spot in the form of cash or even by swiping a debit or credit card in the card reader attached to the PDA.
Revolutionary Change from Old Challan Books:
The new system will bring about radical change in the way Spot Challans are being enforced. Spot Challans will also be generated through the new system which will be linked to the Central Server at Traffic Police.
E-Challan Pending cases to be cleared:
More than 70 per cent of the e-Challans are yet to be paid by the motorists and the new PDAs will help in reducing this pendency, Additional CP (Traffic) C.V. Anand said.
From now on, the e-Challans will also have photo of the violation and public can view these photos through traffic police website, he said. The option of paying online will be provided in the website by Wednesday, he said.
Special Features of the Integrated E-Challan System are as follows:
